Millie's Story...
Meet Millie, a sweet natured young spayed female border collie mix. Millie has had all her vaccinations, including canine flu, is heartworm negative and on preventative, and will be microchipped prior to adoption.

Millie is between a year and 15 months old - she was turned into a shelter by her owner who could not afford to keep her any longer. This girl will make a sweet and loving companion. She has no issues with other dogs, loves to play and is very clean in her habits. She has had no accidents in the house and is clean in her pen at night. She loves to eat, so her new family will need to be careful not to overfeed her !

She has not been tested around cats but she does not appear to have a high prey drive. Millie just wants to be near her person, and if she can see people and not be near them, she will whine, but she obeys if you tell her to "quiet". She is not much of a barker, but will let you know when she wants to go out.. She would do well as an only dog or with other dogs as companions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Millie, a Oliver Springs Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Oliver Springs, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Oliver Springs.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oliver Springs already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oliver Springs breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oliver Springs paves the way for another one to be saved.
