Elwood's Story...
Simply describing Elwood as being sweet and gentle just doesn't do him justice; he's so soft-hearted and compliant. He's got the softest brown eyes that will melt even the hardest heart. He's a great mix of springer spaniel / beagle, about 3 years old and weighs about 30 lbs - the perfect size! Not too big ....not too small ... He appears to have been abused at some point because he's tentative of new people; but if he's given a few minutes to realize that he's not going to be hurt, he'll humbly approach for a much deserved hug. Because Elwood is so peaceful, he does well with other dogs. He's relatively low energy but still likes to have a romp around the yard with his canine companions. He appears to be potty-trained and is very well-behaved. His adopiton fee is $150; he's neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elwood, a Indianapolis English Springer Spaniel/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Springer Spaniel/Beagle for sale in Indianapolis, or seeking a English Springer Spaniel/Beagle dog from a breeder in Indianapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Indianapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Indianapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Springer Spaniel/Beagle breeders who help with English Springer Spaniel/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Indianapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
