Here is what his foster family had to say:
Buddy has been a joy to have in our home. He assimilated seamlessly into the rhythm of our home and has been a wonderful companion to our Golden, Skye. They have had lots of fun playing together in our fenced backyard...chasing squirrels and diving into the leaves. He's co-habitated with our two cats as well....our young cat in particular I noticed loves Buddy (will sleep with him...something he won't do with our own dog!)
Buddy is very affectionate and loves to be petted, have his belly scratched and cuddle up with you on the couch for a nap. His hearing is very good, we are alerted to the arrival of the mailman before he hit our driveway daily! ;-) Not sure he has been walked much as he pulls when he sees other dogs or squirrels, my daughter had a hard time handling him, and my husband remarked that he is very strong. His pads are very soft and unscratched so I assume he was out to do is business and not much else. He thoroughly enjoys his walks with us.
Buddy would do well with kids of any age I think, he's very gentle and does not jump up on people. He has not exhibited any signs of aggression, but wants to be the dominant dog in the home and shows a bit of jealousy by crying or competing for petting with our dog.... being sensitive to that and showering love on both of them seems to have worked that out. Buddy is very social....if the doorbell rang, he would greet the person wagging his tail and looking for petting. He loves my husband, my husband is afraid to get to close to him as he doesn't want to get too attached and I think Buddy views that as he has to try to win him over.
Buddy doesn't look or act his age....he's very healthy, playful and obedient, a lovely dog!
If you think Buddy would be a good addition to your family, please submit an application for consideration.
