Skye's Story...
Skye came to New Moon Rabbit Rescue on 27 October 2012. She was an owner surrender.

She is such a beautiful a sweet little girl. Even though Skye is a year old (approx DOB – October 2011) she is a bit overwhelmed by all things new. She reacts to new situations and environments well but does not seem to have much experience with anything. Her past life may have kept her very shelter and now her eyes are opening! The world id such a big wonderful place, she wants to understand it all! She enjoys pets and is good with being picked up and carried.

Skye would like a forever home where she can play, run, binky and be loved forever. She has only just been spayed (2 November 2012) and therefore still needs some help to learn her litter box skills.

Sweet Skye is available for adoption! We do make every effort to keep our rabbits adoption profiles as up-to-date as possible but this is not always possible. If you are interested in adopting Skye and have any question about her, please email info@newmoonrabbitrescue.ca

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
New Moon Rabbit Rescue was formed in September 2006 with one main goal: to provide unwanted, abandoned, neglected, or abused domestic rabbits with a second chance at human love and appropriate care.

We are a "no-kill" organization dedicated to providing care for rescued domestic rabbits. All rabbits remain in foster homes until such time as they are adopted to loving, caring homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...
All of New Moon's rabbits are in foster care at this time. If you are interested in meeting a particular rabbit you must fill out an adoption application. Upon approval a meeting with the foster home will be arranged.
Our Adoption Process...
All rabbits that come into the care of New Moon Rabbit Rescue are spayed or neutered, health checked and if necessary, fully rehabilitated before adoption. Potential adopters are thoroughly screened to ensure that the rabbits will be entering safe and happy environments.

Every potential adopter must fill out an application, either online or by printing and filling out the PDF document. It can be faxed to 613-489-0487. You will receive a phone call within a few days to discuss your application. Please review our adoption contract, which you will required to sign upon picking up your new rabbit. Please note that all adopters must be approved before visiting the rabbits.

Our adoption policies state that we do not adopt to children, however we do adopt to families with children in which children may aid parents in caring for the rabbit. New Moon rabbits are adopted out as house pets only and are not to be housed outdoors. There will be NO exceptions to either of these strict policies.

Our adoption fees are $85 for a single rabbit and $130 for an already bonded pair. All adoption fees are non-refundable, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the rabbits of New Moon. We are wiling to adopt outside of our area, but you must be willing to pick up your new friend.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We serve Ottawa, Ontario and the surrounding areas of Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. We have on occasion adopted as far away as the US. All adopters must be willing to pick up their new friend(s)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skye, a North Gower Other/Unknown was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Other/Unknown for sale in North Gower, or seeking a Other/Unknown from a breeder in North Gower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Gower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Gower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Other/Unknown breeders who help with Other/Unknown rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Gower paves the way for another one to be saved.
