Shay's Story...
Shay is a mellow, well mannered, inquisitive guy who loves to explore. This super sweet guy will follow you around in the hopes of occupying your lap as soon as you sit down! He enjoys snuggling with his people especially when that includes petting and head scratches. Shay shows his gratitude for your affection by running his purr motor on high!

Shay also enjoys playtime. He loves chasing wand toys and pursuing his green fuzzy ball all around the room! Shay is quite the conversationalist, happy to hear about your day and more than happy to share his day with you!

Shay realizes that every kitty is special in his or her own way, however Shay has good reason to believe he is extra special. Shay is a polydactyl on all four paws! This means he has extra toes! He finds this comes in handy during playtime...who couldn't use an extra toe to help snag a wayward fuzzy ball?

Shay is a recent rescue so we look forward to finding out even more about this sweet boy's purrsonality. Read enough? Then waste not a minute more and fill out an application today - www.azrescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shay, a Phoenix Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
