Jack's Story...
Jack is a mixed breed – maybe with a little German Shepherd in the mix. He’s about 6 years old, a mellow dog, good with people and older kids, but nervous around little kids. He’s good with most other dogs, and is not aggressive toward cats.
Jack is a great companion…he really loves being around people. He will lay down and curl up close by just to be with you. He’s an indoor dog, but loves hanging around outside too. Jack has developed some minor hip stiffness…mostly during colder weather.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jack, a Gig Harbor German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Collie for sale in Gig Harbor, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Collie dog from a breeder in Gig Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gig Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gig Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Collie breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gig Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
