Captain is a very friendly one-year-old West Highland Terrier (Westie), mixed with most likely Schnauzer. Weighing in at 20 pounds, this sweet, very people-oriented boy is curious, playful, and upbeat. He would be a perfect addition to a family with another dog who also enjoys romping around the yard and playing, or to a family who is active and seeking a lively canine companion. Captain likes to play with all kinds of toys be it tennis balls or stuffed toys. He does require a yard so that he can run and jump around around (no patios or gardens but an actual fenced in yard like the kind with grass. This would exclude condos, townhomes, mobile homes, and apartments). Captain grasped the doggie door right away and appears to be potty-trained (though potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment). As long as potty opportunities are facilitated, he has not had any accidents thus far. He is learning how to walk on a leash but needs more practice. Captain loves all dogs, and wants to play with any dog that crosses his path be it large or small. He is also child-friendly, especially if they will be inclined to chase him around. While at the groomer, it was reported that he was an excellent subject (his photos are post-grooming, but his video is pre-grooming). Captain is crate-trained, and he sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is crated intermittently throughout the day as needed. He has never been a problem when it is time to be crated and is always quiet.
Captain is neutered, de-wormed, vaccinated including rabies, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Captain, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue if you have not already submitted your interest first by way of e-mail. Please ensure that you have read the dog’s bio and have visited my website at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and gone to the Adoption Tab to read about the adoption process; thank you!
