Rupert's Story...
My name is Rupert or Roop Dog for short, I am about 4 years old. I am neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on shots. I love other dogs and people. I am very submissive. I just want some cozy furniture to curl up on and someone that will buy me stuffed toys and canned food. My crazy underbite doesn't make it very easy for me to eat dry food. Please adopt me soon :)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rupert, a Garden City Shih Tzu/Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Pekingese for sale in Garden City, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Pekingese dog from a breeder in Garden City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Garden City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Garden City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Pekingese breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Garden City paves the way for another one to be saved.
