Cher's Story...
Cher is a 7 month old Australian Shepherd mix. She currently weighs 28 pounds, but is in need of gaining a pound or two. She is very sweet and gets along with dogs and children. She was rescued from a high kill shelter. She was a little shy the day I met her, but that is not surprising since she was in a shelter. She has quickly adjusted and seems happy to be in a safe environment. She is a little intimated by a leash, but I am working with her on that. She would love to have a family of her own. (TIA)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cher, a Harrisonburg Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Harrisonburg, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog puppy from a breeder in Harrisonburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Harrisonburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Harrisonburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Harrisonburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
