Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dempsey and Sue are a bonded pair of cockatiels about 17 years old. Dempsey is mostly bald and beautiful. Don’t you just love that smile of his? He is so very protective of his mate, Sue. He does not like her to be away from him or where he can not see her as he will cry loudly for her until he can see her and be near her. Sue came into rescue needing medical attention. She had a fluid filled sac on her lower belly. It was drained and she felt so much better right away. Soon after she had the hernia repaired that was likely caused by the other medical issue. She has been cleared medically and has been doing fine ever since.
This is an older pair but still has many years they can live. They are not having an easy time trying new foods such as pellets and fresh fruits and veggies but they do try. There is a variety of food available to them but they still need work. Both Sue and Dempsey are sweet birds. They will talk to you when you spend time talking to them. Dempsey LOVES mirrors and talks to himself in them a lot. Sue is quieter. Dempsey always tries the new toys first. He is such a ham. Both prefer to not be handled but they will hang out on the back of a chair with you or on the top of their cage if you take them out and place them there. Neither has ever bitten and both are gentle birds. They are looking for a loving home with someone who will spend time talking to them and letting them hang out on their chair with them as they watch tv or read or whatever it is where they can be and be included. Can you help make these the best years of their lives for this almost senior pair of cockatiels? They really are a gentle sweet pair of bonded cockatiels.
