OBADIAH JOHNSON!!! OBIE!! SUPPER TIME. That’s my angel foster mom calling. She prefers to call me by full name: Obadiah Johnson. Well, actually I do have a middle initial: Z for Zachariah. A mouthful, eh?! But my fur peeps here at Ahimsa call me Obie. Very, very hard to call Obadiah Zachariah Johnson for dinner.
But I deserved a looooong name, for I have a HIGH IQ, for I am, after all, an Australian Cattle Dog, in a race with the Border Collie for brainiest dog on the planet. So very smart. Oooops. Teresa, main manners trainer, says I need to learn to be humble, as well. But I swear, folks, some of these little pups around here don’t even know what a chess board is. In fact, the puppies chew up the pieces! I have chastised them for that.....they do not listen.
Look into my face: see my perky ears? The slight tilt of the head (i.e. inquisitive), the shining eyes beaming with intelligence....and good will, the confident sitting posture? Have you ever tried to look confident while sitting on your rump? The snazzy/jazzy, flashy/sassy red bandana round my neck? I hear Ahimsa has been contacted by Dancing with the Stars to inquire about my availability for dancing the Salsa with Marc Anthony. We shall see. We shall see.....
Now truth be told.....Ahimsa Angel Mom thought about keeping me.....she thinks about keeping lots of us, BUT she really thought about it HARD this time. BUT she believes someone else needs to know the joy of owning an Australian Cattle Dog named Obadiah Zachariah Johnson.
I’m going to try and collect enough chess pieces to play with the German Shepherd mix here with us now. He challenges me but has never won. Come soon. You will NEVER find a more loving AND smart dog as Sir OZJ. (A really silly Pomeranian mix calls me Ozzie. I think she is flirting with me, but she is definitely not my type. Asked me what “Checkmate” meant. Reeeeeaaaaallllly.)
