Sophie's Story...
I’m Sophie and I just might be the definition of lovely… You should come meet me and tell me what you think! I mean, I’m housebroken and crate trained already. I have sweet, playful and friendly disposition. I am great with children 6+ and other dogs too. Yep, I’m pretty great all around. So why am I here you ask? Well my family wanted to keep me, but they had to move and there just wasn’t any room for me to come along … Do you have room in your family to add a lovely new member? 14 months old-60lbs. My adoption fee is $180 and includes; spay, microchip, reduced cost training class, free veterinary exam, 1 month pet health insurance, leash/collar, food sample, toy & Treat packet.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Portland German Shepherd Dog/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Chow Chow for sale in Portland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Chow Chow breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
