Dixie's Story...
Dixie is a super sweet, extremely gentle, very loving laid-back four-year-old Saint Bernard who loves everyone she meets. She's been around dogs of all sizes, cats and can go to a home with children over the age of 10. Dixie loves the outdoors - she came to us from Arkansas and she's loving the weather in Colorado. She is enjoying life with her foster family while waiting patiently for her forever family to discover her. Dixie had bilateral entropian surgery mid-November and has fully recovered and her eyebrows are growing back! If you're interested in Dixie, please start by filling out an adoption application available on our website at SavetheGiants.com under the Forms tab.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Fort Collins St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Fort Collins, or seeking a St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Fort Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
