Drexel- Courtesy Post's Story...
COURTESY POST- Drexel's bio: Drexel is a German Shepherd Akita Mix. He is 65 lbs. Shelter paperwork has him at six but I think he is younger. 3-4 years old. He is neutered, current on all vaccinations, micro chipped and has been treated for heartworms and is on Heartgard. Drexel is a very Sweet, loving boy. He is very treat oriented. He is large and strong and would need someone experienced with these breeds. He is good with female dog. Because of his size and strength, he would need a family with older children. He seems to be house broken as he doesn't soil his kennel at night. He loves to go on walks

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Drexel- Courtesy Post, a West Hartford German Shepherd Dog/Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Akita for sale in West Hartford, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Akita dog from a breeder in West Hartford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Hartford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Hartford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Akita breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Hartford paves the way for another one to be saved.
