Gabe's Story...
Oooh la la Gaby Baby! Gabe is a silly young thing of between one - two years old and only around 10 pounds. He has the luscious, beautiful fur of a Bichon or Poodle, but if you how long and luscious it was before the groomer had to shave him very close to remove matted hair, you would know he is a mix, probably with a Shih Tzu due to his body shape. It truly doesn't matter specifically what he is - he is great.

Gabe is not an attention hog but does love to dance around on his hind feet to get someone's attention in hopes he'll be picked up. Gabe likes other dogs, and even likes to be around the large dogs here. He is ok with cats too. Though he would prefer to be with his humans all of the time (as a lap and hand-warmer, or clothing accessory), he does well in a crate both for travel and for sleep during the night. He is a cuddler but is very playful too, and he knows how to be a gentleman. Gabe LOVES to go on walks and is a pro at heeling and looks very stately on leash.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gabe, a Oakley Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu for sale in Oakley, or seeking a Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Oakley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Bichon Frise/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakley paves the way for another one to be saved.
