Umkeo is our 10 yr old feisty, super sweet Senior Shep that we are honored to have in Rescue. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, flea, tick and heartworm prevention.
Umeko’s story is a sad one to tell but fortunately for this sweet shep, her former owners did the right thing and found Rescue, and we were lucky enough to have room. Her former human parents fell on very hard times financially and could no longer care for Umeko. They had her since she was a pup, therefore as yo can imagine this was extremely difficult on them but the past is past and Umeko now has a bright future to look forward to. She is an amazingly happy and energetic shepherd that loves to play with toys. She is very well behaved in the home and would make an exceptional companion. Umeko however is not good around children, they scare her too much and she will let them know in a not so nice way to Back off. Umeko will do best in a home with adults that just want a doting shep by their side. Umeko likes to play with other dogs but it really depends on the other dog. I don’t see an issue with cats or small dogs but she may want to chase. Umeko listens very well and just wants to be loved. She thrives on attention and playing Fetch with her is not a request it’s required for anyone wanting to adopt this very “on the go” Senior. An application needs to be completed prior to a meet and greet. All dogs in rescue are temperament tested and have basic obedience implemented as a part of their daily routine. All behavioral issues are dealt with according to each case scenario. All dogs prior to going home are up to date on all vaccinations, neutered and or spayed, and microchipped.
Adoption fees range from $100 - $450 depending on age, degree of personalized training, and if proof of bloodlines can be provided.
Application, home-check, and references must be approved prior before final adoption.
