URGENT – Contessa in boarding must find a home! Contessa is an exuberant 5-year-old who was surrendered to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center by a tearful owner because his mobile home park would not allow her breed anymore(we found it curious that they would have a ban on bulldog/pit bull mixes, it seems awfully specific). Coming in at 45 pounds, she is the quintessential big dog stuck in a not so big dog's body. She is low to the ground, round and quite comical. She has an amazing zest for life and despite being abandoned, she loves with all she’s got. Her favorite activities include licking people's faces and toes. She also has a great appreciation for belly rubs. Contessa is potty-trained and is currently learning the ways of the leash quite quickly. Her former owner told us she lived with a Miniature Pinscher and she definitely gets very excited to meet every dog and person she passes. Contessa would do best with an dog savvy owner if there are other dogs in the home, or she would be a great only dog; she does not mind receiving all the attention. Contessa brings so much joy to the people she meets. She is currently in boarding and just dying for the daily love and attention she so desperately deserves. Please consider fostering or adopting Contessa. Contact Jana Savage @ 857-998-7970 or

Why Adoption is a Great Option

URGENT! Contessa, a Bellflower American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog dog from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
