My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roquie is a 7-year-old neutered male who had a rough start in life, when he was attacked by some large dogs. For that reason, he prefers to be in the company of little dogs. He is great with small dogs and he does not chase cats when he out on walks. He is house-broken and rarely barks. He really needs love. He is a cuddle bug and like to hang out and watch T.V. with you.

Roquie came into my care because I was pet sitting him for his owner. The owner then called and said,” I’ve moved out of state; he’s your dog now.” So essentially, the owner dumped Roquie on me.

Roquie’s history is that he was raised in a motor home with a rabbit and was left tied to a porch for days at a time in Hesperia with no one home. Because he was tied, as a puppy, was attacked by a large dog, that ripped his chest up. The owner never took him to a vet. Then at about 3 yrs of age, he was attacked again by two labs and was seriously injured. So now, he basically feels safe around little dogs. This is a wonderful dog who simply would not fight and is a gentle, sweet, submissive boy. So if your dream is to have a larger dog who can be loving and sweet and fine around little dogs without a threat, and also an older dog who is past all of the nonsense and is now calm and sweet and easy to have around, please consider Roquie! Maybe you have small dogs and you want to make sure that a new dog that is larger will not hurt them? Roquie is your guy! This is a dog that had a very hard start in life and he now wishes for a true, loving home to call his own where he can be safe, free from harm, secure and loved.
