My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Watch a video of me in action here: http://www.mwcr.org/2012/baby.htm

December 14, 2012 Well look at me! My skin is almost completely cleared up, although I still have a bit of itching. Who doesn't? So Foster Mom groomed me and don't I look pretty? She even gave me bows in my fur so I'm all dressed up and ready to go. I hope I'll find a home in time for the holidays!

She may not be a baby in age, but this happy girl has the playful, upbeat personality of a puppy. She is also puppy-like in size, weighing in at a petite 43 pounds. She is an interesting cross between a rough and a smooth coated collie, so her fur is shorter and easier to maintain than that of the typical “Lassie-like” collie.

Baby came to MWCR when her owner moved and was unable to take her along. When she arrived at her foster home, she brought with her a few unwanted friends – namely, fleas, who had given her itchy skin and what the vet diagnosed as “flea bite dermatitis.” Her foster mom has been bathing her twice weekly in a special, soothing shampoo and Baby is feeling much better. The fleas are gone and she is ready to find her forever home.

Baby is a very sweet and loving girl who greets everyone she meets with a happy wag and an invitation for petting. She is excellent with children of all ages and gets along well with other dogs. She enjoys her toys but is also willing to share them with others. Baby likes cats too, but thinks of them as a sort of animated chew toy that exists for her amusement. She doesn't want to hurt the kitties, but she does want to chase them – constantly. For this reason, it would be better if her forever home was a feline-free zone.

Baby is a well mannered, happy girl who would fit beautifully into almost any home. She does not require a fenced yard as long as she is supervised when outdoors. Her family will need to continue bathing her in her special, medicated shampoo until her itchy skin is completely healed, but her shorter fur and smaller size make this an easy process. Baby is a good girl with a loving heart and zest for life that will make her someone's perfect companion.
