(The video was taken when Ethan was brand new, the bio is updated to reflect his personality once he settled in and adjusted and his little personality finally came out).
Ethan is friendly, intelligent, and playful one-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix, mixed possibly with Chihuahua. He weighs about 8 lbs. He can be vocal when playing with other dogs, or letting me know where there is someone at the door, however, he is otherwise quiet. He can sometimes be a bit shy when meeting strangers, but soon warms up especially if you want to throw a ball or play tug of war with him! He is happy to greet you and receive one of his favorite things – belly rubs! Ethan loves to wrestle and play chase with the other dogs. He and his foster brother play for several hours in the morning when he first gets out of his crate (he sleeps quietly in a crate at night but tends to whine when he wants out in the morning). He is good with children but tends to chase the cats here. He just wants to play with them!

Ethan is potty-trained (though potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment), learned the doggy door in one day, and knows all his basic commands, sit, stay, lay down, and even “Go to bed.” He enjoys his walks and does well with a small harness. He is not destructive or a chewer though he does love his raw hide chews. At the end of the day, Ethan will snuggle on the couch next to me while I watch T.V. He would probably love to snuggle in a human bed as well; but is happy "to go to bed" for the night in his crate. Ethan is a very happy little guy!!!

Ethan would do best in a home with another dog who could play with him, snuggle with him, and be his friend and companion. But though he loves the company of another dog, he is also quite people-oriented, and likes to follow the humans all around the house. Cuddling with the humans for “cuddle time” is also a must! Ethan is not a dog who would like to be all alone, but if he is to be an only dog in the home, we would like to find a home where the humans are around more often than not, and who will enjoy setting up play dates or outings to the dog park.

Ethan is neutered, fully vaccinated, including rabies, de-wormed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in Ethan, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue if you have not already submitted your interest first by way of e-mail. Please ensure that you have read the dog’s bio and have visited my website at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and gone to the Adoption Tab to read about the adoption process; thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ethan, a Bellflower Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
