Catori means Spirit in native american. Catori is a very gentle and loving dog. She has been in a house and has good manners. She has a stately manner about her and always by my side. She has been spayed already also. She needs someone who is home alot, and has a big yard, and maybe another dog buddy for her to play with. She is good with cats and children. She is currently in Eastern WA, but can be brought to Seattle area for an approved adopter. Please email connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an application.
Rescue Group Info...
I started this rescue in April of 2012 with the goal of trying to get people in my community involved in saving dogs and cats. I work with the Police Department in the tiny Eastern Washington city of Connell to pull every dog out of the makeshift pound, provide it with vet care, and find it an adoptive home.
We also take in abandoned pets or pets that have to be re-homed from other towns and communities in the surrounding region.
We have a small group of part-time, unpaid volunteers both in Eastern Washington and in the Puget Sound area that help with transport, fostering, and other responsibilities to make our adoptions possible.
It is my overall goal to provide this area with a lasting no-kill program so no more dogs or cats need to suffer.
Although there is a small holding area managed by the City of Connell Police Department, Red Waggin' Rescue/Connell Pet Rescue has no permanent shelter facility.
Our animals stay in foster homes while they await their new homes, that are found in Eastern Washington and all the way to the Puget Sound area.
Generally, if an approved adopter is interested in another part of Washington State, transport can be arranged and runs roughly every other weekend.
Our process begins with an adoption application. Once this is approved, we have a meet and greet. If that goes well, the adoption begins. An adoption contract is signed, an adoption fee paid, and we let the new family take the pet home for a 7-day approval period.
We also take a new family picture as well. If an adopter decides not to keep the pet during the 7-day approval period, the adoption fee is returned when the adopter returns the pet. After this time period is over, we still take the pet back, but the fee is not returned.
We try to microchip all our pets, so that if they are ever in trouble, and get lost or loose, or end up in the shelter, we can make sure that they will be returned to the adopter or to our rescue. We will always take a pet back if needed.
We try to spend time with each adopter to help them understand how to best introduce a new cat or dog into their home, and what to expect. We.are also very mobile and we actively transport dogs to adoptive families all over Washington State. We attend very few adoption events so if you are interested in one of our pets, please email for an adoption application and we can arrange having a volunteer bring the pet to you once you are approved to adopt.
