My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This big boned gal is HARPER, she is an absolutely love-ball. She's a bit of a chunk, weighing 65 pounds (and she's not very tall). Don't tell the other dogs, but she is one of my favorites (I know, I shouldn't have favorites, but I can't help it!). Harper LOVES LOVES LOVES and just wants someone to love her back.

Harper showed up at a friend's house and made herself comfortable! She was her usual happy and wiggly self, just looking for some attention. They took her in to try and locate her owners; they did find her people, but they didn't want her back! Our friend's decided to keep her and took her to the vet for a full work-up, she was spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Unfortunately, they discovered that Harper was far too interested in their kitty and they couldn't keep her. Sometime in Harper's past she had her ears docked, and it doesn't look like a professional job. We hope that you can overlook her crude ear-job and see her for the lovely fat girl that she is.

Harper is now happy and safe at the rescue ranch. This chubby gal likes wading in the water (although she definitely needs to swim to get some weight off!) and playing with the other dogs.

Harp will do great in any household, just NO cats or birds. She does have a prey drive and likes to chase small critters. Although, she does great with small dogs. She would do best as an only dog or with a mellow neutered male dog.

UPDATE: Harp has completed a 6 week obedience class and she did incredibly WELL. I have discovered that she loves going on car rides and is incredibly treat motivated. And, she makes a great hiking companion.
