My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Three year old Dex was picked up as a stray. This sweet dog was already neutered so someone cared about him at sometime in his life. However, no one ever came forward to claim him. The small town shelter he was in has very little foot traffic so adoption chances are slim for all animals. Dex had only a days left when the shelter sent out a plea asking for rescues to help empty their kennels. They just had taken in 17 new dogs and needed the space. How could we resist taking Dex when the info on him said “Very friendly and loves people”.

When Dex made it to his foster home, we found that the shelter comments on him were indeed accurate. This boy is a squishy love bug. He is yet another doxie mix that we think would be a wonderful family dog. Dex happily and nicely greets everyone, regardless of their size or age.

Dex is young and playful. He enjoys going for walks and investigating the bushes for squirrels.

He was not happy about being crated at first (after two months in the shelter, he was desperate to be with people at all times) but he now crates nicely at night. He learned the doggie door in about two seconds flat. He is living with a pack of dachshunds and especially likes the girls.

Dex is neutered and current on his vaccinations.
