My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Shilo and I am 4 months old. I am a very smart and active puppy. You wouldn’t be able to guess this from my pictures. I am a bit camera shy. My Foster Mom had a devil of a time getting the few pictures you see. But, I am prettier than those pictures, I’ll tell you that much. My coloring is so deep and rich that my Foster Mom can’t stop petting me. I wonder if she thinks they will rub off.

Anyway, I didn’t get fed real regular in my first home so I eat really really fast. My foster Mom makes a habit of talking to me and petting me while I eat and I don’t growl or anything. My Foster Mom says this is a good thing. I eat 4 small meals a day right now. And I do so love to eat. Then I sleep. All of the other dogs here are really old. They are over 8 and one is 13! So they don’t like to play much. But I do get to play with two little kids. They seem to like me, and I like them too.

So, get your adoption application in quick and specify you want me, Shilo. The most beautiful Basset Pup in the whole world, or so my Foster Mom says.

Mom and I are working on an activity called “housetraining.” I learned how to use the “doggie door” the first day I was here. What that has to do with this housetraining thing I have no clue. Not to worry, my Foster Mom says I am really smart and should get it pretty quickly.

I am going in for my “spay” on Monday, August 6th. Mom says I can go to my Forever Home any time after August 16th as long as there are no problems with my surgery.
