Six little puppies are giving thanks this holiday for having been saved from a terrible fate. When they were found they were skin and bones - - starving little babies in the yard of a family who couldn't afford to feed them. Nia is the sister who seems to have been most affected by her difficult beginnings. She's still quite shy and really needs to learn to trust her surroundings. Once she does warm up, she'll let her foster pick her up and cuddle, but it's clear she is most relaxed in the company of other dogs. She will require a home with patience and nurturing, and plenty of experience working with sensitive dogs. Because she is more comfortable with dogs we will give preference to those homes with other dogs. Nia is about 12 - 14 weeks old and will be ready for transport in mid-December.
