Here is what else his foster mom had to say:
Skippy is so full of love. He wants to be with you all the time. He gets up in the chair with me and Smudge (my cat). He is trying so hard to make friends with Smudge. I think he would really be the best of friends with a cat that enjoyed a dog's company. He is very gentle and will give the cat a kiss now and then.
Skippy knows his basic commands such as sit, come, down, and no. He is house trained and is very good about letting me know when he needs to go out however he does like getting a treat when he comes back in. He really enjoys being outside and would do well in a home with a backyard to play in. He has very good manners and will sit and wait while I open the door - he never tries to bolt out the door. He just waits patiently for me to put his leash on him. He does pull a bit at first but once we get going he is fine. Skippy is crate trained but he doesn't like and I have found there is no need to crate him. I leave him alone when I go to work having free roam of the house and he never gets into any trouble. He does beg a little but has learned that he is not going to get anything from the table. He does not try to steal food but he does like the smell of the cat food.
Skippy is a very affectionate dog and would do well in any situation. He is friendly with everyone, likes to do whatever you want to do, enjoys playing outside and is good with other pets. He is just the perfect family companion. He would be an excellent choice for a first time dog owner as he is very eager to please and listens well.
