Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mona is a 5 y/o, red and white beauty who weighs 27 lbs, which is great for a 15 inch beagle. Mona was found wandering the streets with her 6 month old pup by a Good Samaritan. Mona and her pup were taken in and HBHR provided the vetting to insure that both stayed in good health. Mona did need to undergo treatment for heart worms, but is totally recovered now and looking to find as nice of a new family as her pup found!
Mona is house broken with the use of a dog door and is crate trained due to her restrictions during recovery from heart worms. She is a mature gal and has great house manners, so can have the run of a house without getting into trouble. Mona loves playing with her foster siblings and enjoys a good game of Suma Beagle! Mona walks well on a leash with minimal pulling and loves riding in a car.
Mona loves cuddling up on your lap and soaking up all the attention you have to give. Whenever Mona is intent on something the wrinkles appear on her forehead, giving her a very worried look…even if her tail is wagging 100 beats a minute! She is a quiet dog who would probably do well in an apartment. Mona would probably do best with a canine buddy to play with, but if given enough attention and exercise, might do well as an only dog. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, THE FIRST STEP is to complete our adoption questionnaire. Please visit our website here and follow the instructions on adoption: Houston Beagle Rescue Our regular adoption fee is $225; special needs, mixes and senior dogs are $175, and pups 8 months and younger are $275. The fee includes the spay/neuter, the vaccines, flea and heartworm preventative/treatment, a new leash/ collar/ rescue ID tag, microchip, and some training. Some dogs may have had additional vetcare such as orthopedic surgeries, heartworm treatment or other procedures, but these "extras" will not affect their adoption fee. Donations to help with vetcare are always welcomed!
