Here is what else his foster family had to say about Odie:
Odie is young and energetic and smart. He will thrive on training, chew toys, exercise and company. I think he would be most happy with another dog in the home or children that would enjoy playing with him would be wonderful.
He seems to know his name, sit and come. I make him sit for any thing he wants like coming in or out, his food, up on the couch or bed. He does pull on the leash but he is so light that it's not a problem. He is eager to please and is treat motivated so training is easy.
I took Odie to a leash free park and his recall was PERFECT! With all those strange people and dogs around, he come instantly and with enthusiasm when I called! He has not chewed any thing other than bones and toys I gave him.
Odie is house trained. He hasn't signalled me when he needs to go, I just let him out at obvious times such as in the morning, before work, when I come home etc. Right after a meal is a good time for #2! I did crate Odie when he first arrived but I've learned that he doesn't need it.
His favourite things to do are to play with other dogs, cuddle on the couch and of course every Jack Russell's dream.... chase critters! He is quiet when playing but will bark at a critter in the next yard or a car door slamming outside. His bark is not too loud nor too long.
I have not witnessed him trying to escape but I would recommend shoring up any gaps in the fence larger than 3". He does not bolt for the door, he's much too delighted to see you! He is a little people submissive but I wouldn't say shy.
Odie will make a wonderful companion and family pet.
