Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This is Buddy, a 4 year old male, Pom/Jack Russell X, 15 pounds & is
extremely smart, but very skittish......His owner passed away about a
year ago & he ended up being kenneled with some hunting dogs, he
became an outside dog overnight ! It appears he was once a beloved lap
dog who enjoyed his indoor life & going for walks....however this last
year appears to have been difficult for him & many of his social
manners pushed aside in order to survive.
He walks perfectly on a leash and comes when he is called. He is house
trained & will sleep in a crate. He will sit & wait for his meal - if
you tell him, & insist that he 'wait'.....(at first, he only inhaled
his food). He ignores our cat, unless she comes up to him. He is
getting along great with our small dog after they sorted out some
jealousy issues & he even plays with our neighbor's medium sz dog now
as well. Best of all he enjoys the evening in your lap if you are so
inclined, or will be just as happy to lay at your feet.
This little guy is rather skeptical of strangers & barks at them, If
your guests ignore him & he goes to meet them, he is fine. He barks if
someone knocks at the door or there is a loud unfamiliar noise but he
is not "Yappy". He will make a fine addition to any adult home.
He should NOT be in a home with children, he does not seem to like
the running & yelling and often over exuberance that comes with them !
