Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Max is an adorable mixed breed pup (we believe him to be a collie mix) who came to us from a situation that wasn't healthy for him.
He is currently 7 months old (as of November 2012) and he weighs 21 lbs.
From Max's foster mom: He is an adorable, affectionate little guy who loves to play. He gets along well with the resident dogs, quite willing to play tag with an equally willing participant. He is not at all hyper, settles down quite nicely and curls up just about anywhere.
He is doing well in a crate at night, hasn't messed at all in his crate, and only once in the house. He will sit at the door or move the blinds over with his nose if he wants to go outside.
He will play fetch, and is learning well to "drop it" when he brings the ball back. He loves his chew toys, but will tear apart those that are less durable.
He has picked up quickly on learning to sit, and stay is coming along.
I would not recommend a home with cats unless you are able to work very slowly at introductions as he is QUICK and will chase them. He will also go crazy at our chinchilla, so small animals should be kept away.
He's pretty quiet, doesn't bark at people walking along the path along side the house unless the other dogs are barking.
He's currently living with older kids, the youngest being 11 but he is terrific with everyone. He is a very social dog, not at all nervous.
He loves to take the lead on a walk, and can't decide if he likes the left side or right, weaving back and forth, but he's not strong enough to pull you over, just need to watch your step!! We are working hard on keeping him focused.
He is a terrific dog that would do well with just about any family.
Max is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. His adoption donation is $375. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered,
microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm tested as part of their adoption. Please fill out an application at our website
