Maria's Story...
Maria is a tiny Chihuahua/wire haired dachshund weighing only 6.5lbs. The vet estimates her to be 2 years old. She has been brought up to date on vaccinations, spayed, tested negative for heartworms and started on preventative. Maria is a sweet little girl that loves to give kisses and cuddle. She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home. She will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 10 or a dog weighing more than 20 pounds. Maria adoption donation is $150. We do approve out of state adoptions but you MUST be willing to "fetch" your new family member- because we DO NOT ship or transport our dogs. If you are interested in adopting this baby, please submit your APPLICATION @www.littlebitsrescue.org.

We do not place any dog in a home with "invisible" or underground fencing.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maria, a Birmingham Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Birmingham, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Birmingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Birmingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Birmingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Birmingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
