Skittles's Info...

Skittles's Story...
Skittles is approximately 8 years old and a mere 10 pounds. She is a shy little girl that will need an understanding family. She does warm up to new people pretty well with treats and in her foster family she warmed up to everyone pretty quickly. Skittles has done well and is happy to hang out with older kids who are respectful of her need for space when she is nervous. Younger children may be too much for Skittles and would need to be very calm and give her space.

Skittles is very food motivated and can be a bit of a beggar. Even though she can get nervous, she is not without personality! While Skittles is waiting for her forever family to come along, her foster mom is working very hard at exposing her to new people and situations so that she will be less nervous.

Skittles was found as a stray in the Cheyenne Wyoming area, so not much is known about her history. Skittles is housebroken and kennel trained. Skittles does great with other dogs and with cats.

Skittles adoption fee is $100 and includes her spay, a dental cleaning, current vaccinations, heart worm test, and micro chipping. Please let us know if you would like to meet her by filling out an application online at www.softplacetoland.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Skittles, a Ft. Collins Shiba Inu/Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shiba Inu/Pekingese for sale in Ft. Collins, or seeking a Shiba Inu/Pekingese dog from a breeder in Ft. Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft. Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft. Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shiba Inu/Pekingese breeders who help with Shiba Inu/Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft. Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
