My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max and his sister were dumped at a shelter by owners who no longer wanted them. The pleas went out to save them and no one stepped up. It went out again and still no rescue came forward. At the time, we were overflowing with seniors and we had no space for them. Unbeknownst to us, one of our fosters (whose home was full) saw the plea and drove the three hours to save these two and crammed them in to her foster pack.

Once we met Max, we were certainly glad she had rescued him. This dog is a character. You can't help but love him. Everyone falls for Max.

He may be fat but he loves, loves, loves getting to go for walks. If had a new home that was able to take him out more, it would help him lose his next five pounds.

Max is super with other dogs. His sister gets crabby with him and reads him the riot act and he just takes it. (Because of the difficulty of getting seniors adopted, we are not requiring they be adopted together.)

One of Max's peculiarities is his crate behavior. When he wants out, you will hear him bark. However, if you sneak up on him, you will find him laying down on his side with his eyes closed, while he is barking. Clearly he is saving his strength for when he is out of the crate!

Max is neutered, vaccinated and just had a dental.

The tax deductible adoption fee is $75 The fee for adopting Max and Emmy together is also $75
