Bentlee's Story...
Bentlee boy is a BEAUTIFUL yellow Lab! Yes boys can be beautiful too!! Bentlee came into a high kill shelter in Louisiana as a stray with a Black Lab female who we think is his mom (Zoee - will be listed with BBR soon). No owner came forward and both dogs found themselves on the euthanasia list on their 8th day at the pound. Luckily they were both saved instead and moved to a PAWS of NE LA foster home until we can find their forever homes through Bonnie Blue Rescue. Bentlee is approximately 1 year old and weighs in at 55#. He could stand to gain some weight and we expect his ideal mature weight to be close to 70#. He is a happy young Lab who is good with kids and other dogs although he may be a bit exuberant for small kids and small dogs. His tiny Yorkie foster sister does not appreciate his antics!! Bentlee is housetrained, crate trained, and knows how to sit. He is extremely food motivated and his foster dad reports that Bentlee wants to please and is very smart. He is happy and confident in new places and even enjoys going to the vet! Hurry and apply for this special fella today....don't miss out on B's smashing good looks and great personality! He would be a super addition for any active family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bentlee, a Richmond Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
