My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Birthdate: 10/17/07

Gender: Female, spayed

Breed: Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix)

Emma has a really big secret, but we’re prepared to spill the beans. Ready to know what it is? Okay, but let’s keep this just between us. She’s secretly a cat! Yes, a cat!

When you take a peek in the Cat Room, no matter what time of day, you’re likely to spy a strangely large cat with big floppy ears hanging out on the cat trees or even snuggled up with a real cat. It’s an EmmaCat. She doesn’t care that dogs aren’t supposed to climb. She hops right up on the platforms with the cats then curls up to take a nap.

At first, the cats looked at her a little funny, but now, they’re used to sharing with Emma. They’ve made her an honorary cat.

Don’t miss her video! She’s right at home with her friends.

In fact, Emma is so great with the cats that she is one of the few dogs who doesn’t even try to snack on “kitty crunchies” from the litterbox, which has earned her plenty of fans at the shelter. She’s perfectly happy to just coexist with her kitty roommates.

Emma is a beautiful little Puggle, which is a fancy name for a Pug/Beagle mix. She weighs in at around 15 pounds, so she’s just a tiny girl. No wonder she thinks she’s a cat!

Little Miss PseudoCat is fully housebroken and knows her basic commands. Of course, treats are always very helpful and much appreciated. She also walks well on a leash.

In addition to her cat companions, Emma gets along well with other dogs of all sizes. She also does great with kids.

You can meet Emma at the shelter during adoption hours, Thursday through Sunday 5 to 8pm, or call 330-397-8270 to schedule an appt on another day or at another time. Emma has already been spayed, heartworm tested (negative), fully vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated, so she’s ready to go home with you right away. Bonus points if you have a kitty at home for her to play with.
