Nellie is a 1 year old german short haired pointer mix. She was born Nov 1st 2011. She weighs about 40 pounds. She is very people friendly and she is excellent with other dogs. She does chase cats. She was surrendered to our rescue because she was guilty of killing chickens. She is a bird dog so she was doing what came natural. She has the best personality. She is eager to please and she would be easy to train to do just about anything.

She will go to her new home current on shots, microchipped and spayed.

We do require a pre screen application. You can get that on out main website at www.saveamuttkennel.info. Please read the faq page.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nellie Betty's dog, a Sherman German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Sherman, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Sherman.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sherman already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sherman breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sherman paves the way for another one to be saved.
