Shrek's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Shrek's Story...
Shrek is a very special boy. He is half of a breeding pair that was turned into the rescue. More than that, Shrek wanted a real home and life, not just to be a puppy maker. He wanted a real home and family, not to be abandoned in the yard. He kept escaping the yard to try to find someone to play with and love. When he was found, he would be punished and yelled at. We don’t know if he was hit, but we do know that if he gets out he will run from you – afraid of what will happen to him if he gets caught.

Because of his history, Shrek needs a home with a secure yard and a family with tons of patience. Taking him to obedience class will help him understand that humans aren’t going to punish him when he comes to them. It will also help him feel safer and more secure in his new home.

Please give Shrek a chance. He is a wonderful boy that just needs someone to take a chance on him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shrek, a Reno Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Reno, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Reno.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Reno already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Reno breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Reno paves the way for another one to be saved.
