Gezomina is quite possibly the sweetest little girl you will ever meet. She is very submissive but super loving. She needs to build a little confidence in herself however she isn’t shy in asking for hugs and attention from anyone who will give them! Gez is good with other dogs however due to her very petite size we prefer a home with no large bouncy dogs, she’d be a great buddy for another small dog, mid-large laid back dog or a senior dog. She also gets along with cats. Gez is good with respectful older kids and due to her size we are looking for a home with no small kids under age 8yrs. This loving little lady is crate trained and house trained, Gez does not use papers, she likes to do her business outside.
UPDATE from Gezomina’s foster mom:
First off she is the most adorable thing ever! She has free roam of the house but does have accidents from time to time. Mostly just the nervous pees, because when we go out she will go right away. She sleeps on a blanket in my room but not on the bed. She's very affectionate, loves to be petted and will roll over to have her belly rubbed and could stay like that for hours. She's a little shadow, she runs about and when I move toward her will just run backwards so she can keep looking up at me. She is nervous around new people but is also curious. She steals my socks and puts them on her bed and sometimes if I give her a treat she runs to eat it there. I've been calling her Sweet Girl. I've given her a couple baths, because her fur is long on her legs when she pees it gets wet. She eats the tiny kibble and I mix in some canned food with it to fatten her up.
Gez likes her walks but most of all her cuddle time. She needs to build confidence and obedience classes with a good trainer is a good start for this. Gez is currently living happily with her foster mom in an apartment in Toronto. She is a social girl and suitable for a more mature family looking for a little snuggle bug to join them on errands and outings or trips to visit friends and family. If you don’t have small kids please consider Gez as your new family member! Gez is suitable for house or apartment living.
Gezomina does shed (low to moderately) but was shaved down by her previous owner to minimize grooming as her hair grows very long – not uncommon for this breed. Her hair will grow out long and silky however this will require A LOT of maintenance to keep it clean and free of mats, daily brushing will be a MUST if you insist on growing out her coat. It is suggested that her new owner maintain a shorter coat so that Gezomina is easier to brush regularly and more comfortable – it gets hot under all that hair! Regular visits to the groomers (every 8-10wks) is suggested. NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE BREED? CHECK THIS OUT BEFORE YOU APPLY - http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/pekingese.htm .
