Joanne's Story...
Joanne is about 8 years old and she weighs about 15 lbs. She is bright-eyed, active and alert. She is a purebred cuddler and mostly Shih Tzu. She is a sweet dog that loves to snuggle, sit in your lap and give you kisses. She is a wee bit bossy with other dogs so she would not do well with another dog that is bossy and she is a bit too interested in cats so if you have a kitty then personalities would need to be considered. Joanne hasn't been around children since she has come to the rescue but would be fine with older children that would treat her well. Joanne is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped. She is also house trained. Joanne would love to meet you and be your new best friend. For more information please email stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com or call 503-857-5047.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joanne, a Sheridan Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Sheridan, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Sheridan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sheridan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sheridan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sheridan paves the way for another one to be saved.
