My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tidbit is a real people dog! He is a very happy and friendly boy who loves the outdoors. A wonderful pet and a great companion, Tidbit would do well in just about any situation. He would be great with respectful children of any age and other pets in the home are fine too. Tidbit is a young boy approximately 1 - 1 1/2 years old and weighs just 21 lbs.

Here is what else his foster family had to say:

We noticed from the very first day how friendly and welcoming Tidbit was. He is very easy going. Nothing seems to startle him or upset him. He likes to look at you with sad puppy dog eyes and his tail is wagging all the time. When he first came to our home I took him out for a walk and he greeted everyone on the street including all the children coming off the school bus. All who saw him thought that he was a great dog and were impressed with how friendly he and not the least bit shy of anyone.

Tidbit just LOVES going for walks. He enjoys exploring everything around him. He enjoys going over to the local high school to where there is an enclosed large yard where he can run, watch people and other dogs. He has not bothered with our cats much, and if one is standing in front of him or in a door way he will wait for them to move. He has been fine with other dogs including my mom's little dog. He LOVES going for a car ride. He sits usually in the back looking out the windows or will sometimes settled down for a nap.

Tidbit has not gotten into anything in the home. He is very well behaved. He does not beg while we are eating and will sit or lie near us. He enjoys his toys and balls. He likes to rest and nap on the couch or the chair in the living room. At night he does sleep on the bed with us.

Tidbit knows his basic commands and listens well in the home. When he gets outside he does get more distracted. He is just too curious about his surroundings to care about what you have to say to him. I am having him sit before we cross the street. He is a young dog though and eager to please so it won't take him long with consistency and practice. Overall he listens pretty well and is getting better all the time. He is fully house trained and does his business outside. I have not put him in the crate since he has been here, as I don't feel he needs it.

I feel that Tidbit would do well with a family with children who are old enough to walk and play with him. He loves attention, sit beside you on the couch. Really likes to have his ears stroked and rubbed, rub under his chin and his temples massaged. He seems to enjoy a brushing. He would need a yard and some where local to run and play. He loves the outdoors and would probably enjoy camping and going to a cottage. He had a bath and did ok with it. He may enjoy the water if he could go in a pool or lake. He would do well with someone or a family who loves the outdoors, hiking or long walks, or even going for a drive to go visit people.

He did have a visit at a nursing home. He was very curious about checking the place out. He did get some attention from some of the residents and he welcomed their conversations and pets.
