My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bio Update 04/04/13: Abby is happy Spring has come and she doesn’t have to worry about snow for awhile (aren’t we all!!!) Abby enjoys playing with her people and although she doesn’t play much with the other dogs, she gets along great with them all. She loves laying on her pillow by the couch and her other favorite thing is graham crackers! She knows when foster mom has a graham cracker and gets excites as she knows she will get a tiny bite. She is house broken, but due to her periodic bladder infections she may dribble a little if foster mom isn’t quick enough to get the door open. She wears doggie panties and doesn’t mind them at all, the panties are becoming part of her comfort and fashion. Her recent urine test showed no more presence of white blood cells, which is good, but she does require antibiotics periodically as she has the potential for frequent bladder infections. Abby is a very sweet senior that would love to have her very own family to spend her “golden years” relaxing with and sharing her love.

Bio Update 2/7/13: Abby in Ohio has gained a pound since being in foster care and that sets well with her. Abby’s comfort zone was her crate with the door open so she could come and go as she pleases, but she is coming out of that comfort zone and spending more time with us. She sleeps on “her” pillow in the Living Room at night with the other dogs. Due to her previous history of bladder stones, she has potential for bladder infections, so to minimize that, she will benefit having periodic antibiotics. She doesn’t mind the cold weather either, and loves to go outside to walk and investigate. Abby is now up to date on her shots and is ready to meet you and show you what a lovely girl she is. She would love to have a forever home to spend her time and share her love.

Bio Update 12/30/12 : Abby has recently undergone surgery for bladder stones that were making it difficult and painful for her to urinate. They were embedded into the bladder wall, indicating they had been there for a long while. The vet says “Abby is a tough girl”. Right after surgery, Abby showed that she wanted to play, but didn’t feel well enough yet. Now, since she is recuperating, she is happier and getting much more playful. As soon as she is recuperated enough from her surgery, she will receive her booster and rabies shots and be ready for her forever family.

Even though Abby is 14 yrs old, she has a lot to give. She loves attention but also loves her rest time too. Abby has not shown much interest in the other dogs, but she loves belly rubs, bath time, and ear scratches from her human. She is not a high energy dog but is good on the leash and likes to take walks. She is easy going and easy to care for and doesn’t have an aggressive or destructive bone in her body. She will give kisses and is patiently awaiting her new family so she can shower them with her love.

Initial Bio 12/08/12: Abby is an 8 pound, 14 year old female Yorkie that is housebroken and spayed. United Yorkie Rescue took her in when her family could no longer care for her. She has only been in her foster home a couple of days and needs to adjust to all of the changes in her life. It isn't easy to be moved from a home that she has known for 14 yrs and then overnight expect her to change the long time routines and habits that she was familiar with. She is friendly and cute as a button. She has been very busy exploring her foster home and showing us how smart she is and willing to adapt. She is eager to explore what life has in store for her now. She will let foster mom know when she wants to go outside and when she wants to eat. Abby loves to go in her crate to rest as she wishes with the door left open for her. She enjoys the freedom of a fenced yard when going outside to potty. Abby has been to the vet and is recovering nicely from a Urinary Tract Infection. Please check back for more updates as we get to know this good girl better.
