My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Missy Lou is quite a stunning classically marked black and white purebred semi rough coated Border Collie. This gorgeous gal is almost 9 years young and still has a lot of get up and go. She came to our rescue because her owner was unable to care for her after a fall. Missy Lou has been a very well loved and pampered pooch her whole life. Her owner deeply cared for her and with Missy Lou’s and wanted to do the right thing for Missy Lou to make sure that she was taken care of.
Missy Lou has impeccable house manners. She had professional private training and knows typical obedience and usual commands. Missy Lou loves to go for walks and is not shy to ask for attention and to be loved. She is housebroken and loves to sleep right next to you either in bed or on the floor next to you.

Missy Lou is a dominate female and is very food aggressive around other dogs, so she needs to be fed separately. She also can be a bit snarky towards other dogs as she doesn't like dogs running up to her. She will show teeth but will not bite. She is integrated into her foster mom’s house with her foster brothers and sisters without issues. Missy appears to like cats and doesn't bother them. She also enjoys the company of children.

Missy Lou has been debarked. This means that her vocal chords were severed to prevent her from barking, however, she can still vocalize a bit. BCIN does not advocate this cruel practice. It is our experience that dogs that have been debarked are more anxious.

Missy Lou would prefer to placed in a home without kitties, as she has shown a prey drive towards some cats.

Please open your heart and home to adopting a senior. BCIN takes in more than a fair share of the senior BCs. Missy Lou erra will be adopted under our senior dog program, so please ask us for details.
