Thor's Story...
Hi, my name is Thor. My people were going to put me to sleep because I didn’t get along with another male, a Chihuahua. I don’t know why they didn’t do their homework! Mals don’t get along with any small dogs, male or female. I’m a bit insecure, so where you go, I go. I’d probably do best as the only pet in the household as I get jealous when another dog is getting attention. If you have a friend with a large female dog, I’d love a play date though. I’m a bit on the small side at 70 lbs. That seems to make me eligible for an apartment or town house, don’t you think? Please don’t try to put me in a crate, I’ll keep trying to escape. I’m completely house trained and you can trust me to be loose in your house. The first sign that I’m getting frustrated is I spin around 100 mph chasing my tail. For some reason humans think that’s funny. I promise, if you adopt me, I will love you forever!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thor, a Augusta County Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in Augusta County, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in Augusta County.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Augusta County already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Augusta County breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Augusta County paves the way for another one to be saved.
