Rocket's Story...
Rocket is a 4 1/2 year male who is white with black ticking. He just finished a moderate race career and will soon be ready for his forever home. His small dog and cat status is unknown.

I’m Rocket. I’m a large white male with black ticking. Make no mistake, I’m definitely a male. Yes, I know that I will soon be snipped. Better that than producing puppies that may, or may not, survive in this harsh world. Racing was fun for a while, competing against those other dogs, beating them to the finish line, but I got tired. As a famous singer once sang, “Is that all there is?” When my number was called for retirement and I was scheduled to enter a rescue group, I was relieved. I would like to feel the sun on my face, sniff cactus, watch wildlife skip, hop and run through the desert. Most of all, I would like a special person to swoop in on a helicopter, 007 style, and take me home. Although a male, I sure like affection and snuggling with someone special. However, if you tell this to any of my colleagues at the kennel, I will deny it!

Rocket has an adoption pending.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocket, a Tucson Greyhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Greyhound for sale in Tucson, or seeking a Greyhound dog from a breeder in Tucson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tucson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tucson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Greyhound breeders who help with Greyhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tucson paves the way for another one to be saved.
