Brownie's Story...
Meet Brownie, also known as Brown-eyed Boy. He is a brown-eye boxer mix who is needs to be the only animal in the home (no dogs or cats, please!). He enjoys being sung to by his foster mom. When his rescuer found him, he had been starved by the adults that should've been taking care of him and abused by young boys. Now he is healthy, current on vaccinations and has been neutered. His ideal home would be adult-only, either with a single woman or a kind, patient couple who can help to ease some of his lingering trust issues and provide him with some trust-building traning and therapy. Please contact Nadia at njubran@marthaturner.com if interested in Brownie. Thanks!

About Our Rescue Group...
We rescue in a low income area of Houston called the 5th Ward. We founded Forgotten Dogs of the 5th Ward Project about a year ago to address what we saw as an obvious need to help the many stray dogs we were seeing in there. We set up feeding stations and network and pull as many as we can when a foster home or no-kill rescue group says they can take them in. One of our goals is education and we provide residents with vouchers that cover the complete cost of having their animals altered and vaccinated against rabies. In addition, we provide other vaccinations and worming in the field free of charge. Since November 2011 we have grown in size and have rescued over 250 dogs and a few cats from the area. We are launching a program called Habitat for Hounds through which we will donate doghouses and blankets to residents for their dogs that are kept outside. Our website is forgottendogs.org and we are a 501c3.

Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee ranges from $100 to $150. We have an online application and a contract and all dogs/puppies are either spayed/neutered prior to adoption if old enough or arrangements are made to have them spayed/neutered afterwards.
