My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Raleigh NC

Sweet soft boy, could use some confidence building. Very nice dog, easy to handle and eager to please. He is neutered and UTD on all vaccines. He is negative for Lyme, Erlichia and Babesia but positive for heartworms. He’s a nice boy, learning to walk nicely on leash. He’s crate trained and house broken. Good with other dogs and cat tolerant. We would like him to go to a home with another dog (female dog).

Hank came from Wilson NC, he was involved in a seizure and we are not sure of the outcome as we were not privy to the case. We know that many dogs were seized from a home and there was suspected abuse and allegations of dog fighting that were never proven. Hank has some scars on his face and front legs that indicate he has been in an altercation with another dog at some point in his past. Despite those scars, Hank appears to do very well with other dogs.

He’s a nice moderately active boy. He doesn’t appear to need much more than a daily walk to meet his exercise needs. He’s quiet in his crate. He is very waggy in a kennel or crate and has developed “happy tail” that is currently being treated. A soft sided plastic crate may be a good choice for him once in a forever home since it would be softer when he beats his tail against the side.

Please keep in mind that we are a foster based rescue only. There is no facility where these dogs can be visited prior to application approval as they are all in private homes. This is for both the safety of our foster homes and our dogs. Please take a minute to fill out the adoption application if you are interested in one of our dogs. We also do not place our pit bulls in homes with dogs of the same gender. We adopt as single dogs or to homes with dogs of the opposite gender only. We appreciate breed experience.
