Pongo's Story...
Why Choose me?
I was very surprised to see Pongo at the animal shelter today because he is such a good looking puppy, and he is very soft. He has little black spots that are randomly spread across his body and a very fine coat that makes you not want to stop petting him. Pongo was found as a stray with a blue harness on. This active pup must have gotten away from home and not been able to find his way back. Pongo is very friendly and affectionate, both towards people and other dogs. I enjoyed watching him stick his nose through the fence of the interaction pen to play with other dogs as they walked by. As some of the pictures show, he likes to give hugs, and I also liked receiving hugs from him. Pongo must be unsure why he has ended up at AC, so come by and meet him today! He will make you smile!

Please refer to a dog's ID # when calling animal control about a dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pongo, a Athens Boxer/American Bulldog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/American Bulldog for sale in Athens, or seeking a Boxer/American Bulldog puppy from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/American Bulldog breeders who help with Boxer/American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
