My name is Charley and I am seeking a fur-ever home for Christmas. If you are looking for a charming boy who is quiet and needs a little special attention, you may have a chance with me. I have the sweetest personality. I love the outdoors. I'd like to be with a dog (or dogs) that I can befriend, trust, and follow around.
I was rescued from the pound where my owners turned me in because my eye popped out of it's socket - they didn't say what caused it. Because of that I only have sight in one eye, which is somewhat limited due to previous neglect of my dry eye condition that requires daily drops. Also because of that neglect I had nasty heartworms. It's taken a few months, but I'm ok now. You just need to make sure that I take monthly heartworm prevention so that I never get them again. The treatment is really yukkie, and it costs a lot more to fix than to prevent!
You will need some patience with me because it takes some time for me to feel comfortable in new surroundings. I need someone who is willing to look after me and be my best friend. I really don't like to sit on your chair with you, but I do love to sleep beside you. I'm a great bed companion and I don't get up at night. I also love to ride in the car with you.
The pound told my foster mommy that I'm 3 years old, but my vet thinks I'm more like 8 - so maybe I'm somewhere in between! If you have the time to provide a little extra attention, and you are looking for a quiet companion, I'd like to meet you. I'm being fostered in Suffolk, VA and my asking adoption fee is $185.
