My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Copper is currently on medical hold - please check back for updates.**

Copper is a 10 month old retriever mix. He is auburn colored with white under his neck.

Copper is enjoying his new foster siblings and is adjusting well at his foster home. Copper does very well with people, other animals and children. He is very smart and learns fast! So far he can do "stay" and "fetch." He is currently learning "sit" and also how to walk on a leash. He is very observant and really pays attention.

Copper has had no accidents in his foster home and he has a good appetite when it comes to chow time.

Since Copper is young, he does like to chew! He has the need for chew toys, which must be sturdy.

He sleeps through the night unless his foster sister starts snoring. In that case, Copper's foster mom will tell him "It's OK" and then he will go back to sleep.

Copper would do best in a family-type setting. He would love to have someone home and not be left alone all day. He is very social and likes to know someone is near.

Please remember that GRFR adopts puppies to forever families who have sufficient time at home to socialize, house train and nurture their new puppy. Also note: puppies should not leave your yard or be exposed to any other dogs unless you are certain that such other dogs have been fully vaccinated and are older than six months. They should not go to parks or Petsmart or anywhere else until they have their last booster shot, as they could contract a potentially lethal virus. Before taking your puppy to puppy class please discuss vaccination requirements for various classes with your trainer or vet. Puppies often need a few dewormers and we encourage you to discuss this with your vet.
