Salvador's Story...
This is Salvador. He is a big lug of a cat and sweet and gentle is the only way he knows how to be. He hails from Grattan Race Track, where people continue to dump unwanted cats, (remember Cornelius Maize who was adopted awhile back?). If only they knew these cats will get shot if we can't catch them first. Salvador had to be trapped as he was distrustful of people. You can see from his scratched up face that he has not had an easy life. Yet we always find that those cats who look the roughest on the outside, are the sweetest souls on the inside. Salvador currently spends his days shacked up with another wayward soul, (a female we call Gus), who was abandoned at York Creek Apts. He needs a home and will make a perfect cuddle companion for the cold winter nights we have ahead of us!
Salvador was born 10/2009

All of our kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites.

If you are interested in adopting one of our kittens, please click here to fill out an Adoption Application. Our adoption fee is $85 for one kitten and $125 for two.

Our adoption center is located at 4600 Knapp NE 49525. Our open adoption hours are every Sunday from 12-2pm. Come on out and meet the love of your life!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Salvador, a Byron Center Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Byron Center, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Byron Center.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Byron Center already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Byron Center breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Byron Center paves the way for another one to be saved.
